View Full Version : Just thought I'd say......
I can't help but think that the majority of posts in this forum are what i'd describe as "let's find something else to bitch about in RTW".
So I, for one, just thought I'd say.......
Well done CA, I think RTW is a fantastic game and you guys have done an awesome job bringing the Total War series to yet another level!
Thank You CA! ~

i second that fella-its truly awesome (and i've been playing since the 1st STW days) ~
Which critiques are you finding to be incorrect or unwarranted? The vast majority of posts are constructive criticism or legitimate concerns. I don't think that even the developers are trying to pretend that the current product is without flaw. What flaws are not corrected on a patch, will be addressed by modders.

I have to agree, even with the bugs and AI its a truly amazing game. I've been staying up till 2am or so every night since I got the game. If CA can fix the bugs and improve the AI a little and few other misc things they'll have a game that tops Civ3.
Edit-I don't agree the majority of posts are just finding other things to whining about, i've experienced alot of the things myself. And if we don't make a loud enough shout about it now here and on the .com CA won't fix it because it simply won't be in there best interest to.

Yea, but MTW already topped civ 3. Hopefully they will fix the unit movement patterns and game speed.

I salute CA for a fantastic game. It's THE BEST strategy game I have ever played, and it went beyond my expectations. I look forward to the continuing series of Total War games.
Regarding this forum, I think The Org is an impressively mature, respectful and insightful community, and I don't think the developers think otherwise. There's not a lot of bitching here, just a lot of enthusiastic people who want to be a part of making this series of games better and better.
I have been playing Star Wars Galaxies (the MMORPG) for the past year, and I have to tell you that the player forums for that game are awful. You've never seen so much flaming, bitching and general hostility toward the developers and everyone else. On the other hand, this forum is a pleasure to participate in, and exceptionally sophisticated, in my humble opinion.
Just my two cents. ~

I offered my thanks to CA on a thread which has since slipped down the list, so I'll reiterate here. I have not enjoyed a game this much in 4 years, since I played Deus Ex the first time. I've not had a game keep me up until at least midnight, sometimes 2 or 3 a.m., on work nights in even longer than that. No issue with the game is serious enough to qualify my statement when I say: Thanks, CA, for a great game.

LOL That reminds me... it's 10 p.m.. I should be playing the game, not reading these forums.

I also think this game is one of the best. Right up there with XCOM and Civ (It actually reminds me of the old Master of Magic game, for the old timers). And yes, there are bugs and there some things we'd like to tweak but, all in all, its an achievement that's makin' twenty-foot waves.
I agree, to a certain extent.
There are some heated moments when people say unfriendly things, or whine. that's human ;). It doesnt matter though, since indeed most of the criticism is constructive.
Let's look back at when MTW came out. It had more AI faults than rome has right now.. And look at what medmod did to medieval.. I'm already scared of the AI after a modder is done with it *snickers*
When the mods come out, we'll have a serious field day.. Heck, i cant consistently beat medmod on hard, but i love playing it.. Now it's just a matter of waiting for.. Well, a mod for rome..
As for CA... My deepest respect to all of you. Four years to build a top title is an acceptable development time, and i'm happy to see that the time was extremely well spent.

Oh! Yes!
That never ending debate about mounted knights not being able to ride over the top of spearmen. I shall never forget it, learn't a lot of medieval history arguing that one.
Without doubt RTW is the best historical strategy game I have played.
Napoleon TotalWar next please :charge:
Criticism is good.
It makes a good game better.
And believe me, I want Rome to improve to its full potential.
I played it for days right now and had fun, but there are MORE than a few things that need to be looked in.
E.g. all powerful Cav and the broken Spear boni.
But nevertheless, I think you are quite right, RTW is a great game, cheers to CA! ~
