Malm says Hi,

New to this forum I would like to know if it is true that Junior Patrons can't search the forum and if so - why?

In case Junior Patrons are not allowed to search the forum is it ok to make new posts without first ensuring that this topic hasn't been discussed elsewhere?

I am not sure I got time to manualy search through all post here ;)

I would recommend that you do what I did when I was a JP a couple of weeks ago -- post here asking Members to do the search for you. I did that twice, and both times Helpful Strangers posted search results for me.

As to the why of the policy, I don't know, and I remember asking that myself. Would a Mod care to answer? What's the reasoning behind not letting JP's search the other indexes?

The reason for the search engine to be disabled is that the number of search requests brought the forum down. Right now, the search function has been disabled only for guests and junior patrons. A few months ago, nobody was allowed to search.

Malm, it is perfectly all-right to ask questions that have been asked before. The Entrance Hall is full of new patrons asking the same questions over and over again. That is the reason why we have an Entrance Hall in the first place!
