Best Vs Worst

I think you should only vote in this poll if you understand both games. I would like to know how many forum members actually could claim familiarity with both sports?

Also, I am sure both games are better than tennis

Tennis and soccer are the only sports I like to watch. The others have too much stopping and starting.

i hate baseball.
for starters, you use a sissy little glove to catch a soft ball.
secondly, a diamond? what the hell is all this C%^&.
Thirdly, A round Bat?, you have less control over where you hit the ball.
Fouthly, have you ever seen a baseball spin like a cricket ball, i certainly haven't.
Fifthly, anyone can throw a ball, but can anyone bowl a ball with spin at 130km/h
Sixthly, the ground doesn't really change strategy, really nullifying the whole "Home" ground advantage.
Seventhly, a new ball, that really removes the entire idea getting to choose bat or field first, since it really doesn't effect how long the ball has been beaten.
Eighthly, back on the topic of field, in baseball A: you don't play long enough to notice a change in the field, again wasting the entire point of choosing.
B: the changes that do happen in the field really don't effect the game.
Ninethly, have you ever been asked to take the rubbish out, say ill take it out when the Test ends. four days later.
Tenthly, there is no coming back.
in a cricket test, you have 5 days oftenly to come back and win.
in baseball you have less then one night or one day.
thanks,
dessa

Re 5 I have never seen a a spinner hit 130k

Re 7 You get a the option of a new ball after a certain amount of overs in a cricket match.

Re 10 you mean the losing side has 5 days to stay in and hope for a draw/rain

Cricket is a good game i enjoy watching it (esp Freddie Flintoff!) but some of your point didn't really make much sense.

Baseball im not as familiar with but has a bit more razzamatazz about it, plus the infielders are talented guys.

yeah KE, ive never seen a proper full spin bowl at 130, but you do get the pace bowlers that have a touch of spin on it.
also i have seen tests where in the first innings a team could be down by 200-300 runs and then make it back and win on the fourth day.

In Baseball... what's with having one guy to hit the ball, then another to take over running around the diamond? Are they just lazy or what?

Or perhaps it was just the match in Philadelphia that I saw.

Pinch hitting. It doesn't happen that often. Never really been sure of the reason for it.

Dessa you speak like someone who doesn't know anything of the game they are trying to ridicule. Maybe if you did you would respect it more, who knows maybe even enjoy it.

Test Match Cricket is the worlds greatest sport, joint equal with Football and Ice Hockey.

Baseball, OTOH, is the worlds joint worst sport, sharing that honour with Rugby League.

And, btw, I have lived in America and Australia as well as dear old Blighty ~:) I tried really, really hard to get into Baseball and RL, but they are both so inescapebly dull ~:handball:

yeah disappointing tandulkar wasn't there, it would have been a far more interesting game.
and yes i am a cricket player, i play fourth batsman and i am a starter for indoor.
i'm a fast bowler (i'm really bad at it too).
but i have a good batting average.
something like 26, and 35 for indoor.

also Jag i have played baseball for three years, it seems to be that the cricket players are actually better at baseball then the baseball players.
then again there is very little baseball competition in australia. and cricket players play all year round, outdoor during the season and indoor offseason.

the main sport i play is tennis, i play at least 20 hours of tennis a week.
i play one day of cricket a week, with 2 hours of training. so about 12 hours and less with indoor.
thanks,
dessa

1,2,3 HOORAY!, 1,2,3 HOORAY!.
cricket is the greatest game ever.

it gives plenty of choice, Baseball or Cricket, or i don't know, or the null vote.
thanks,
