IMO its the option files that does not exist in the game and only in text files. Why CA folk left some options out of the game even in advanced graphic options, is really beyond me.
It seems like a very simple implementation too, as people already found out most of the options in the txt files, and can simply effect it by changing "true"s and "false"s. It means the game already has the ability to cope with the changes. If there is anything to be petitioned, we should petition that CA develop a simple patch to add the graphical options and other miscellaneous options(such as battle time limiter) inside the game, so people can change it easily enough, and not have the game delete the lines after.
Also, we should petition for the battle recorder to be enabled in single player campaigns too.
