Suddenly, the units I can build have changed, but there was no notice that the Marian reform had occurred. Is there supposed to be an announcement?
I check all scrolls in the stack on the left at the beginning of each turn, so I'm sure I wouldn't have missed it. Besides, some like adoptions, pop up anyway--this seems even more important.

It does have an announcement, I have seen it in both of my Roman campaigns... (Way to early, but that is a different thread... ~D )
It has an annoucement, but I think only if YOU are the one triggering it. Perhaps that one of your Roman allies have built the Imperial Palace and triggered it himself.
No you get an automatic pop-up message when the marian reforms happen even if you don't trigger it you still get it. The way you could have missed it is if you click it closed before you had a chance to read it.
It happened to me too, even though I triggered it and I always read the tabs. Wierd...

I'm the most advanced Roman faction & it did occur after I built an Imperial palace, though I didn't know what was supposed to trigger the event; so for some reason the announcement didn't happen. Oh well, I'm enjoying the new troops anyway.
