On the diplomacy screen (the central one, not the deal-making one) I don't see a way to see who I have trade rights with. Also it'd be nice to know who I've sold my map info to. (Can you sell it more than once??) Am I missing something? It's hard to tell if you've gotten trade rights with everybody, after a while.
Thanks! ~

Bleh nevermind - I just saw how you should hold the cursor over there shield icon in the diplomacy screen, then you'll see it.
Anybody ever sell their map more than once to somebody?
do it all the time. usually first time nets anywhere from 3-7k. Second time up to 1k. Might be related to how much new map you've explored.

I've gotten a whopping 24,000 from the Egyptians for map info ........ that was the trigger to send in an assassin and spy to destroy there economy

~ Most I'd heard of was 8k, that's absolutely astounding.
I've sold 43,000 denari to the Britons (see my A Quick Guide...). It ought to be patched....
Hi,
Sold the map info to Carthaginians in Caralis in first couple of turns for a few grand. A couple of turns later when my ship had been to gibraltar and back to the Balearics I sold it to them again. Got about 1200 the second time. This is a nice easy way to get your bank balance kick-started at the beginning of the game I think.
Cheers,
Rob.
Map info seems extremely overpriced to me.
I can't think of anything that you gain with the map, which is worth anything more than 1000 denarii.

Call me stupid, but can anyone what benefit there is to obtaining "Map Information"?
Can you see parts of the Map w/o sending out Spies or Diplomats?
Thanks.

It can be useful in dealing with another faction near the beginning of the game, you might just encounter tham and not be impressed, but getting there map shows them to be holding loads and land meaning they are probably rich and rich=power=don't screw with until you have more data...
Or it may show they only have a couple of territories and are ripe for conquest..
That you can pretty much see it in the diplomacy menu.

Best i got was just over 7K from the Dacians for the map info. The Egyptians would rather make insulting comments than buy the info it seems. ~D
