I think i am the first to start this topic.
We have had Shogun (japan), Mongolian Invasion, Medieval, Viking Invasion, Rome.
My next guess would be that it would be set in China circa 600-200BC. Spring/Autumn, 7 kingdoms time periods. (It seems like a rather grand scope though.
Also, how about from New World 1492-1776 (but i feel that this scope is no exactly "Total War"), which is the same time period as Sid Meier's Colonization. (More concentration on gunpowder units, and application on how to balance the native american's and European Powers)
since they like to do two projects simulataneously, my guess would be an evolutionary game from rtw set in ancient china while a revolutionary game on napoleon which would be released a couple of years later.

Europe will get the boot for the next game i am sure as we have now had 2 in a row here.I think there are a lot of possibilities in Asia for CA to look at.They could even do a Rise of the Zulu or Matabele in Africa but the unit roster would be a little limited.I would personnally like to get a game about the unification of the Mongol tribes and their subsequent expansion all over the shop.

My preference would be the Ancient Chinese Dynasty wars.
EPIC.
You'd have the Mongol invasion for that one too.
Building the great wall.
Diverse maps.
Chinese language (which I think is cool).
Anyway it would be great.
I loved the old Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Remember they had magicians/alchemists in that game. I think it represented some of the firework displays that armies would try to mesmerize their opponent. Given the CA has added things like head hurlers, flaming pigs and screaching women ... I'd love to see some more colorful type units in a Chinese game.
And honestly I'd embrace a TW game that had some fantasy aspects to it. That would be great for the ancient China setting.
Napoleonic.. The game will stick in European theatres of war. If not Napoleonic then...maybe Renassese (sp)?

I'd love to see "Dynasty-Total War"! truth is, the first emperor destroyed all the weapons he's collected from the Empire and melted them down so no one could raise an army. At the same time, he destroyed all previous technical know-hows (burned all the books and buried the scholars and artisans) developed over the centuries of constant warfare, thus in terms of weapon making the Empire was set back a long way.
Definately worth the effort in doing a bit of research for a potentially great game. =)
I suspect it will be Medieval TW 2.

Secrets
But the sports games coding technology has not been allowed to wither away. We're working on a non-sports "surprise something" that we think is going to be neat, cool, the bees' knees, the DBs and much more besides. Let's just say that the cross-fertilisation between Total War and the sports technology has resulted in a genetically enhanced monster of a game, and leave it at that. It will be jolly, jolly good.

I'd like to see a Chinese Total War game. That would be my first choice, because I know that MTW could come back with a mod - and a STW mod is already underway. Whatever they do next it should be good.

Eurasia Total War is what I would like to see. I agree the Mongols would be a good main civ to follow from their beginnings on a small map and onto a big map. I know of a game called Genghis Khan that is much like that idea.

I think I've arleady gone on enough about how much I'd like to see a China: Total War in the other thread.
I really liked Dynasty Warriors 2/3. So much, in fact, that I actually went out and read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. That's saying something, I usually don't read very much, because I'd rather play video games. ~D
In fact, the only thing that I wished had been in DW 3 was the ability to actually command your character's unit, which unfortunately was independant. The total war treatment would be awesome for this setting.

We're already working on a mod for the three kingdoms era, and by the looks of it should be quite promising as Vercingetorix at the TW center has created a module allowing people who know how to use 3dsmax create many new features in the game, I am just beginning to create a Chinese Broadsword as a new weapon and it's already starting to look pretty darn good. Having that said, I would like a Napoleonic or Rennaissance era based game.

I think a napoleonic will be the revolutionary title, with the addition of naval battles. The evolutionary, hmm I agree that the early Chinese would be a good theatre.
