Boy this pissed me off. After about 50 years of brawling with the Gauls, I finally bled them white enough and screwed em money wise enough that they agreed to become a protectorate. Now as you see in pic #1, they agreed.

Now end turn and the next turn I was jacked! Notice the arrow pointing to my treasury last year. 115000 denarii, and now the circle showing my totals this year. :embarassed:

Now ive been known as the "richest faction" for countless years. Even beyond egypts vast wealth. I build up my ports, traders and farms. Now magically I get this message.... Hmm?

And finally, to cap it off as a bug, notice this screen. You saw my pic above of the treasury of 20000 after getting mugged, now it STILL says im 115000 denarii rich! The next turn it was back down to normal rates though...

And then the Gauls broke the protectorate status with all my cash 2 years later. :embarassed: So nothing but me getting robbed occured. I wish you could set terms for protectorate status at least if your gonna shell out money. Like how much military they can have, and tribute that will be paid yearly.

I do seem to remember that one of the CA guys stated that this was a bug and would be recitfied in the next patch...

Could be wrong though...

Yeah I posted a bit about it a while ago - Jerome said that it would be fixed in 1.2

Yikes! That's a nasty bug. I'm playing the same campaign and I can see what you gave up in military conquest to get your treasury up to 115,000, and then it gets snatched away. The two times a demanded a faction become a protectorate they both refused. I guess I was lucky, but I didn't have any money to speak of either.

Had it strip me from 500k+ to 71k when I made Pontus a Protectorate (which was a Senate mission).
Rolled back a few turns, figuring I'd tell the Senate to bugger off ... but they gave me a different mission - Exterminate Pontus.
I liked that.

yes it is going to be fixed. Just wanted to give some photo documentation on the bug itself for evidence and proof to anyone who disputes it.
