Have you tried a battle of 5 pesant units vs comp's 5 pesant units? (the basic 1 atk 1 def pesants)
Fun to practive macro-battle infantry strategies with. Since there's nothing like formations or any bonsus either way, you have to rely almost exclusively on troop positioning.
I did two tries, and got on the second try:

601 deployed, 492 kills, 502 remain
601 deployed, 117 kills, 109 remain
comp
with this layout:
me= O, comp = X
O
run down RIGHT
O
O
O
O

Since the comp normally has 4 rows in front with the general unit in the back, this effectively traps and corners the general unit while all others are free to run. You also have all your troops closing in on the general unit. The general (small x) will try to route quicky but you'll get him, sparking a series of routing shortly thereafter.
