I am having really long turns in a campaign game (as the Polish) like 7 battles in one turn (year). I had like a 9 hour turn... Is there any way to save in the battle or at least in between battles? Ctrl + S doesnt work...

In Viking Invasion, there is an in-between battles save, I think, but not in the MTW alone.

Thanks a lot! I dont have VI (yet) so for the time of this campaign I have to do without...

Oh, and with VI how do I save in-between battles? Automatic or have to press something?

If you' are fighting that many battles a year maybe you should autocalc the lesser important ones ?
In my first campaign I had at least 3 battles per turn, and I only ever had time for 1 turn (at most) a day, I found that the campaign progressed too slowly for my taste, and I had a lot more fun when I just started concentrating on the important battles.
I did make every turn count though, I invaded the last unconquered province in 1230...

In Viking Invasion, when there is a battle, you will see two icons for quicksave or quickload game.

I don't mind fighting all of the battles, actually. Even the less important ones, because I can learn and experiment in those (this is my first campaign that I actually want to fight all the way...)

Oh by the way: did you invade that province in 1230 so that you dont have to face the Horde? ;)

I didn't know about the Horde, I invaded the province, won easily, congratulated myself and waited for the game to end, then the message 'Golden Horde appears' came :help:

I threw everything I had at the Horde, so they only ever conquered two extra provinces, of course, this left the other lands a bit underprotected, so I had several factions reappearing within a year (Papacy, England in Anjou, French, maybe another one too). After I finished off the Horde I moved everything back and easily won back my lands, I ended the campaign somewhere around 1250. ~:)
