can i change default unit sizes mid campaign

i,m in the middle of a campaign.
i'm using man units'but am getting annoyed with not being able to merge units as well as when playing size unit campaign.

also battles are not as meaty.

can i change this mid campaign?

yes. you can. I use this "trick" to merge 2 units of 30 and 31 man for example. So you can have a unit of 61 men (or more). After the merging, i rechange size to 60. But beware because your armies can't have more that 960 men if size limit is 60 (even if you have units of more thant 60 men).

It would be nice if the game let you choose the size of the unit you want when you raise it, adjusting the cost as appropriate.

i can't get this to change.
my campaign stucks at size 60's.
despite the option being 120 now.

I used this trick (go to option, change army size, merge unit to more than 60 men, rechange army size to 60) before the patch. I haven't tried again since the patch so maybe it's because of the patch? I will try again.
