I've yet to encounter this despite the fact that in my current german game seven factions have been wiped out, not one has come back. I've even had Londinium rebel against me and kick my garrison out, but it became a generic rebel city, no sight of an unknown british heir. Is faction re-emergence a feature, has anybody seen a case of it? ~

Two campaigns so far and I havent seen it yet. I dont think it happens.
Not seen it happen in two completed campaigns (one long, one short) and about 5 other campaigns of various progress.
Did have a the city in NW France revolt to Gaul (twice) but they still have their Spanish city remaining. Distance does not seem to matter.
It would make sense if it didn't, I mean, its not quite like medieval were everythings a kingdom and so on. The cities are so much more involved now, when a faction takes over, the city's loyalty normal switches over and so forth, and half of the factions in the game aren't really civilised enough to contemplate stealth re-emergence and the like.
Just my 2 cents

I'm sure I saw the Scythians re-emerge in my last campaign. House Scipii had taken all of their lands when 4 or 5 rebelled at the same time and one of these reverted to being Scythians and became that nice rust colour on the map.

I think there are loyalist revolts but no faction re-emergence.

In the entrance hall there was a thread not too long ago about this, one guy said that he killed the dacians, got the video and stuff and then about 50 turns later was attacked by the dacians again. If there are faction re-emergences, they most centainly do not get announced, and probably go unnoticed.
