Muse rock hard. They're one of the only contemporary bands I enjoy, although their most recent album was inferior to Origin of Symmetry.
I don't really agree that thier latest album wasn't as good, there was some AWESOME tracks on it - Hysteria and Stockholme Syndrome to name two. They do rock, hard.

Man, I can't pick a favorite, not even 10-20 favorites. Music has been a huge part of my life for most of my life. But here are some artists that I like, that were a big influence on the musical me:

Chopin (Etudes, Waltzes, Preludes, Fantasy Impromptu, Polonaises, Ballade in G Minor)
Liszt (Liebestraume, Hungarian Rhapsodies)
Debussy (Claire De Lune, La Mere, Children's Suite)
Beethoven ("Moonlight," Apassionata, Waldstein sonatas)
JS Bach (Preludes and Fugues)
EARLIEST POP INFLUENCES/ALBUMS:
Chicago (Chicago IX, first non-classical album)
Peter Frampton (Frampton Comes Alive!) DON'T LAUGH--HE WAS A BIG DEAL BACK THEN!

RECENT:
???
I have been out of touch musically for quite a while. Living in the past I guess, as nothing has caught and held my attention recently. Based on what I've shared here, does anyone have suggestions of music I might like that is current? As you can see, I've fairly eclectic tastes ... .
P.S. Sasaki: very surprised to read your faves ... interesting how musical tastes often breach the time barrier, as evidenced throughout this thread.
