Where the heck is Bablyon? I've had an ambassador scampering about the Fertile Crescent for like 10 turns. I see the hanging garden wonder, but where is the city in relation to it? :wall: Freakin Babylon...
Babylon does not exsist anymore as a city. The city was called Seleucia, hence the name the Seleucid Empire. If you have found the gardans then you are not far away

Seleucia was a brand new city. Babylon pretty much died out after Seleucia was constructed - it was used as a trading post, that's about it.

Okay, thanks, I did find Seleucia, pretty much due north of the Wonder and across both the Tigris and Euphrates (I think). Thanks again. Back to my conquest...

When the new capital of Seleucia on the Tigris was founded in the early 3rd century BC, however, most of Babylon’s population was moved there. The temples continued in use for a time, but the city became insignificant and almost disappeared before the coming of Islam in the 7th century ad.

Of course, more recently, the ruins of Babylon were made into Saddam's propaganda tool. The plans to turn the grounds into a historical theme park thankfully died out (although there were lasershows and political rallies regularly held at the "Hellenistic" amphitheater).
