SP2: Logon failed - mandatory update required from www.totalwar.com

I used to be able to hit the Online board, but ever since I installed SP2, I get the message above. I see no update at www.totalwar.com: not on the home page or the downloads page. Does anyone have a fix for this?

i read somewhere, that by turning off the firewall, sp2 automatically activates after the installation, this and similar problems could be solved. i don't really know if that's the case though. does rome:tw 'talk' to the server or internet or whatever ? i don't think so. yet there may be no harm in trying it i guess.

Sorry, I should have said that the Windows firewall is off and I use Kerio for a firewall. Those rules have not changed. This seems to be a message coming from inside RomeTW, i.e. part of the program. Anyone have a reference?
