Rally points

I am having difficulty getting a rally point to work. I have no problem creating it, and the little rally marker shows up on the map. The problem I am having is getting the troops to step on out. They all move out of the cities from which I created the rally route, and then just stand right outside the city. ~:handball:

I don't see a command to tell the troops to actually rally to the point, and it doesn't seem like it would be necessary: The rally path to the point shows from the city, but the troops just won't move from right outside the city.

This is a bug maybe? I havnt messed with rally points too much but i will get on and see what i can see.

In my game they step out of the city and then march to the rally points, very handy when I'm trying to get my cities to a huge size, I just send plenty of peasants to the city I'm trying to upgrade and disband them there ~D

never used rally points...

You make the rally points like you Vladimer say, then you click "end turn" and then all those units are sitting outside of your cities ready to move. You can now have the option of moving them all to the rally point yourself (they have movement points as they were just built) or you can wait until the end of the turn and then let them all go to the place which you told them. I think it's kind of annoying that you can't have an option to have them all move to the place first, but still - it works.

Do I understand you to say that if I click "end turn" after they are standing outside the city, on the next turn they would appear at the rally point (Assuming it was within one turn's movement)?

I ask because I swear that they just sit outside the city, turn after turn. :stupid:

My rally point (my first ever ;-) is about three moves away from the starting Julii cities. All four northern italy cities point to the same rally point and the rally paths all show up on the map. Unfortunately, no troops show up ~;)

They show up once they're built - then you go about moving all of your troops around. THen once you click "End Turn" those troops will move to where they were Queued to go to just like a Diplomat or Spy would.
