Took Byzantium away from the rebels last night, and happened to notice that they were, of all things, the dreaded Troglodytae Light Infantry. Had other troglodyte units, also. CA had WAAAAAY too much time on their hands. ~D Still, it was a great laugh.
Anyone else seen "odd" rebels?
I saw an army designated as Lesbian in Asia once. I bought them off. I was afraid they might kick my ass if I fought them!

Lesbians is the proper term for people from the island of Lesbos. Since this was an ancient Greek island, it would actually make sense to have Lesbian Rebels... though perhaps not in mainland Asia.
Still amusing though. ~D

Troglodytae was an appropriate term as well, as it stood for the various people around the Red Sea, Egypt, and Ethopia who lived in caves rather than houses. Its that term and its definition that lead to the later monsterous versions.

Thanks for the info, IN, even though you've now ruined for me what I thought was a good joke by CA. ~;) I never knew where the term had originated. As much research as I've done on that particular area over the years, I should have run across it. Haven't. Thanks again. You wouldn't, by any chance, know what the term originally meant or what language it came from?

there are jokes throughout the game, but rather than spoil things you'll just have to find them yourself (or read about one or two in some of these threads)
