Hi folks,

Does anyone have any idea on the ETA for the 1.2 patch? I'm about to finish an Imperial campaign as the Scipii and didn't want to start a new campaign if the patch was relatively imminent. Campaigns take so long and I don't want to ditch one half way through.

Are we talking a week, several weeks or several months (perish the thought).. ~;)

Cheers

The Devs did say that the patches will be compatible with older games. ~:)

ah yes, that's indeed true. But by then there'll be a multitude of AI fleets everywhere and no way to reverse it....

As of right now version 1.1. of Rome is extremely stable and playable. Since there are no critical issues with the SP game that need to be addressed I am inclined to believe that Activision is going insist CA take it's time and create a large, all encompassing patch instead of several smaller ones that can be released in a relatively short period of time.

So taking in account all the bugs that need to be fixed, all the things that need to be tweaked/balanced and the few new features and options CA may try to squeeze in my money's on a late November/early December release for the next patch.

I have no inside contacts or information so that is pure speculation on my part!

Speculation, but good reasoning there Spino. Same guess here, tho I'm inclined to lean toward the early December release date.

It would be consistent with my experience with the patching of other game companies like Blizzard. It's basically release a few patches to fix gamebreaking bugs and really bad imbalances and take your time to release a huge patch with lots of smaller bug fixes and balance changes.

Wrong. Soooo wrong. But I guess your version of fun is different than mine.

I think that the destructiveness of farms and public health buildings is definitely a fun dampener, if not a game wrecker. I hope they release another small patch soon to fix up the biggest problems in SP, as they did in MP.

I think 1.2 will come out before mid November heck maybe even befor November. It might only fix the major ones like the protectorate bug and other ones that make certain things impossible, like city assaults with only 20 minutes to win when that just barely gives you enough time to win the walls in a big assault. Now 1.3 will probably be an extensive patch and may not come out for a few months.
