Playing as the English, I've grown fond of Knights Templar (probably because of my liking of Knights with swords versus lances :charge: ). In my current campaign, 2 of my top 3 rated generals are Knights Templar. The problem is the need for crusades to replenish their numbers. Does anyone else use crusader knights as top ranking generals? Does the lack of retraining bother you? Thanks in advance!

I only use crusader generals elegible as commanders/governors/titles if they have truly good stats or if I can replenish ranks canibalizing similar units with lesser stats. Remember that by the high period they'll begin their obsolecense and by late period they'll be better off as melee units.
They look great though. ~

I crusade a lot, so my current game I have two kickass Teutonic Generals. Between them they crushed the remnants of the Egyptians and have deciamated every Byzanatine invasion of the Holy Land. They look so damn gallant all white and flouncy, but charge em at the Katatanks and they munch them up. The training is annoying, my feudal knights are all silver armour and weopons, but few good generals.

Yah, I've been considering more and more use of princes as generals. The problem is without being able to give them titles and offices, they can't be customized to be as good.
Late Royal Knights really are better anyways, its just I like knightswith swords rather than lances.
Thanks guys!
