Compared to some I have not played RTW 1/10th as much but my first impressions are that the game has gone forward in leaps and bounds compared to what were already excellent games.
the detail in the regions and the detailed battle scenes are the most striking aspects of the new game. There are however a few things that are frustrating - I post these not to moan but to ensure I have not missed something that would resolve my somewhat minor issues - when attacking Rome I was unable to break down the gates with my ram and had to use the big thing to get over the walls - but this limited what I could take over and therefore many men fell victim to cavalry. should I have used artillery i.e. ong*****ers etc
I was asked by the senate to kill my leader - which I did (he was rubbish). however after a couple of years they asked me to kill another who was brilliant - is this because I got the message to go and attack Rome -
if so my element of surprise went out of the window as the other two families attacked me first!!!
finally - how do I select another nationality - (other than a roman one ) I'm sure I only had the option of the 3 roman families
