Has anyone looked at the average age that family members and agents die . What is the youngest and oldest natural death? (except plagues and battles of course).

I had a general who died at the age of 72 and he actually survived the plague two or three years earlier!!
I've had family members die as young as 50 (of natural causes, that is), and had one faction leader who lived to be, I think, 78. I'd say average death age is in the mid or late 60's.
I've seen them go somewhere around the mid-50s and I've had one live into his early 80s.

One of my family members saw the death of his father, brother, son and died 5 years later after his son's death. I think he was 80.
BTW they all died of natural cause.

My initial German King died at a ripe old age of 94 he even sadly had to watch 2 of his sons die, one in Battle and the Edlest of Natural Causes.

Wow, Hopefully my faction leader will live a long time. He's coming up to his 60th and has taken out nearly all the gauls (their left with one province and he's besieging it now).
Hopefully he will be stay alive long enough for him to rush back up to the north of france to take on/destroy the brits.

I wonder if Older Family Members die more easily when they're in battle than Younger ones.

I doubt they do but it would be kinda cool for them to. I don't use my general to attack much (not since he picked up doubtfull courage when i auto-calculated once). He just mops up when the gauls are running away

Well my family leader went only to one battle then he stayed home until he died. His sons and brothers took care of everyone else.
An 18 year old girl brought home his boy friend. That guy was 80 years old.

I once bribed a Spanish pervert who, about two years after being adopted by the Julii family, married a 14-year-old. He was 47.

To those who have had really old family members: do they start losing their abilities and go senile at some point? I don't think I've seen anyone reach 70 yet (any man, that is; I did have a female family member who died just before turning 90).

I had a 48 year old join my family by marrying a 12 year old. My oldest general so far was 79 when he died.
At what age do you normally start moving the retinues to younger generals?

I was going to start moving my retinue members from my top general but can't get anybody near him at the moment (they r needed elsewhere).

I've had 40-somethings TRY that too. It's times like those that you train assassins for.
Isn't it generally a bad idea to take 48-year olds into your family? You only get 15-20 years of service out of them. Just send them packing, and in a few turns your daughter will come back with a 21-year-old who'll give you 40 years or more.

Nope they kept on gaining vices, not lose them, well at least that's what happened to my general.

My leader is now into his 70's but i don't want him to die. He has taken out the gauls and is now set to take out the last off the numidians(sp). I've already transfered some of his retinue to a much younger general just in case he dies.
My king lived to 1560, he took his vitamins everyday i made sure lol
Joke btw if you didnt already guess id say 60-80 normal death span mate depeding on how any women they can get there hands on in my book, so feed them well hehe :P

Don't know the average life span but did hear once that for the only time in history a mans lifespan was longer than a womans due to the surgeons that travelled with the roman armies.
That is if they weren't killed in battle.

My faction leader is well into his 90's and is still gaing V+V's. Although unfortunatly he's started picking up some bad ones now. He's now known as Flavius the lily-livered). Its a shame, first he was known as the mighty, then the infantyman then orator.

I was really surprised that my faction leader lived to 104, and he was even the general that took Rome.
Oh and also all the stacks aroun arretium(sp) are general units (mostly all adopted generals) +there is also about 7 more actually in the city

You need to do something to improve your income in Arretium, but that's a pretty old leader, and he can still fight, lol.

my income is absolutley screwed. I'm 50,000 in debt and i'm losing about 15,000 a turn. I don't mind not having any money as all i needed was to take Rome which i did next turn.
Its a shame about my leader he started picking up really bad vices such as the coward vices

I have a 10 star leader about to turn 94. If he makes it to 104 I'll post a screen. He's outlasted 2 faction heirs and now guards the Eastern sector of my Spanish Empire against the Brutii. He has beaten down two attacks a turn since his 86th birthday. I've got him stacked with some less "venerable" family members, just in case he slips in the shower. My average runs about 60-65, natural causes. I love being able to track my family history, although I would like a rollover info function for the deceased.

I think my guy has out lived 3 faction heirs, i would continue playing that campaign but my finances are absolutly terrible and would continually get further in debt. I nearly didn't have the cash to go to rome but i started letting cities revolt then re-capturing them so that i could loot them continuesly (also it got their production higher each time too)

So if I don't marry her off to the old guy she'll come back later with a younger guy. Does that always happen or is it a random thing.

My Julii family members usually die around mid sixties....once they get to age 60 or so, I move them to my capital and give some of the good retinue thinguies to the younger guys!
