I have noticed it more than once: a foreign prince (alone, only with his bodyguards) would come and camp out in the fields right nex to Rome... Sometimes, the Senate would just ignore him, at other times they'd chase him down and execute... Speak of a successful AI sea-landing...

i get that with my own cities - right now i have two or three greek banners around my city ..um, on some island in the mediterranean. each banner has one unit of 15 guys.
