I have seen some threads addressing how difficulty levels affect tactical battles (mainly just brining up the old MTW list), but does anyone have any idea how they affect the Strategy game (i.e. AI rules advantages, AI gets smarter or more aggressive, etc)?
The AI seems to do more amphibious landings the harder the setting, and to appear in more awkward places...
It doesnt greatly enhance the AI play on the game so fighting is just as easy (on computers part of playing) yet the other factiosn in the game grow hugely quicker and there isnt no let off at start, someone could be right on your front door and attack before youve even has time to wipe your ass :D

You think the campaign map AI is smarter on the higher difficulty level, or just gets a resource boost or some other cheat?
i read in the main forum that it also affects the income of provinces. farming and taxes i think. you get more money for the same provinces, in other words. might be wrong though.
The AI seems to build more troops and attacks more.
Still thick as paste on the battlefield though ~;)
It also seems that the AI forms more large forces rather than small, scattered armies as it does on easy and normal. While harder in the short-term, this can actually prove to make things easier in the long run, as it means you don't have to spend as much time tracking down remnant, scattered enemy forces.
In general I find the AI to be extremely aggressive on V. hard.
