Im playing a game as the greeks and have been in sea battles against rome and when i take my ships to port they wont retrain. They just sit in the constrution queue. Ive have moved them to all my ports but none will retrain them. Has anyone else had these problem? ~

Do those settlements have the proper training facilities to re-train those ships?

Just retrained a ship for the first time last night. I went back to the port and it showed up in the retrain tab. I'll check again tonight how this actually worked.

I've had the occaisonal ship refuse to be retrained. The work around is just to move the ship out of port, then back again. Once I've done that I can retrain the ship normally.

This appears to be a bug. It also happens to regular units, but it's less noticed as you see less full stacks of units needing retraining simultaneously, because most people don't auto-resolve if they can avoid it meaning more units sustain no casualties. What causes it appears to be having a full stack of units (no room to add anymore unit cards), apparently the game refuses to add units to an already full stack regardless if it's only to just top up existing units for retraining purposes or a fully trained stack that has no room left.

The work around is to leave one space open in your stack so it can retrain the appropriate units, the only thing that really sucks about it is when you're in hostile territory and have to place a unit outside your city in order to perform the retraining as your whole underpowered army will be pulled into a fight if that lone unit is attacked unless you place it far enough away from your city.

I thinks it's definitely a bug. I had the same happen with a full stack of 20 ships trying to retrain. And I had some problems with a full stack of army, also. It seems to be when the stack is full and you fill the retraining queue.

Now, when I have a bunch of units to retrain, I always leave an open spot in the queue.

Does anyone know when patch 2 will be released? I dont play multiplay so I didnt even download patch #1. I probaly should have though because a group of 6 elephants killed about 300 hastati when trying to take carthage.

Does this only happen to you in Sparta?

Because that is the only place where i have had trouble with ship retraining, and if so it maybe a specific bug

Just wondering...... ~

I know it has happened to me in Croton and Thermon as well.

The elephants are still uber and will still destroy 300 or so Hastati even after the patch especially if the enemy army is charging in their General unit after the elephants first crash into their lines. The elephants staying power is in their hitpoints not their base stats, if CA is concerned about them they need to drop the hitpoints on Elephants.
