Are there any documented faction-wide effects of having a faction leader with good traits as opposed to bad, or is it just another waste of time to manage faction heirs? I ask because I just killed off a useless twit of a faction leader in order to change to a strong heir but I dont see any obvious effect.

I thought that your faction leader's influence effected diplomacy as well as relations with the Senate and the People if you are Roman. I could be mixing up MTW and RTW though.

Someone in another thread suggested, leader's influence has an impact on the unrest factor...

That's part of what I was hoping to see, along with an effect on economy, but if there was an effect it was a small one. I havent found diplomacy to be much of a factor as a Roman or now as a Selucid.

From all I the experiments I've been able to run over the past weeks, the outcome of negotiation isn't affected by either the leader's influence rating OR the Influence rating of the diplomats involved.

I do wish someone in the know would write a good diplomacy guide, or at least answer a few pinpoint questions. I'm lost when it comes to the big picture.

I miss how, in MTW, if your king had lots of Command his heirs usually started at 4-6. In RTW all the heirs are come of age with crap, usually nada in all three stats, even when their daddy and granddaddy have like 8 stars. That's been my experience so far at least.
