OK, now, I know I already have a mod project going, but currently my focus is concentrated on making units. The production of my other mod will be resumed once I have a larger knowledge of modding the game.

Anyway, on the subject of the mod,

MYTHOLOGY MOD FOR ROME TOTAL WAR

OK, so we all like historical accuracy in a mod. But sometimes, actually, most of the time, I find that complete historical accuracy can put huge limits to a game. So I am braking away from that for now, and instead I have something else planned... mythology. Most of the game stays the same, except that many new and exciting units will be added, not only from mythology but also units showing well the culture of the nation. HUGE offerings made to the gods will let them come down from the heavens and help you in battle, as avatars. (you thought elephants were big? THINK AGAIN!!!)

Large units for factions:

Britannia: SACRED DRUID (not actually a large unit but summons big creatures)
Gaul: GIANT INCENDIARY BOAR (despite being on fire it survives until it is killed)
Spain: GIANT BULL (you know)
Germania: OGRE (big ugly giant type thing)
Numidia: CHIMAERE (lion with a second goat head, and a snake as a tale, breaths fire)
Senate: EAGLE OF POWER (death from above!)
Julii: PHEONIX (throws fireballs and flies around, doesn't die easily)
Brutii: LANDSHIP (A big ship that sails through the land)
Scipii: GIANT WOLF (smaller than other giant units, but effective still)
Carthage: GIANT ELEPHANT (absolutely huge!)
Macedonia: CERBERUS (big three headed dog)
Greek Cities: THUNDER CASTER (actually a group of people who through thunderbolts at others)
Thrace: SERPENT (snake, nothing else to say)
Dacia: (need help on this one)
Pontus: BRONZE LORD (big statue of bronze come to life)
Seleucid Empire: INVISIBLE HYSPARAGID (big and invisble, surrounded by a cloud of dust. All you can see is the helmet, spear and shield)
Scythia: (need help)
Armenia: GOLEM (big rock throwing monster)
Egypt: LIVE SPHINX (the sphinx alive)
Parthia: (need help)

Faction Avatars:(an avatar is the walking image of a particular god)

Briton: BRITANNIA (rides around fast on a chariot)
Gaul: TEUTATIS (Not sure of the details completely)
Germania: THOR (big guy with a huge warhammer)
Julii: JUPITER (roman king of gods)
Scipii: VULCAN (smith, he's on fire and he has a hammer, also he can throw red hot anvils at the enemy) NEPTUNE (naval unit, very very good)
Brutii: MARS (red, huge sword, huge killing power)
Carthage: BAAL (unsure of details)
Numidia: RAH (has a laser-shooting eye)
Egypt: ANUBIS (ferocious wolf, runs around biting the heads of stuff)
Greek-Cities: ZEUS (lighting caster)

sounds fun, I'm not a modder. but i love mythology. maybe voor dacia en scythia soem groups of units:
centaurs( half man, half horse, archer type).
cyclops( giant with one eye and a 'baseballbat')
manticore ( lion with a human face, and a scorpiontale with al lotta spikes) minotaur( man/bull)
Hydra(multiheaded dinosaur)
chimaere( lion with a second goat head, and a snake as a tale, breaths fire0 and a
colussus, (the colussus of rhodes walking tall)
if you know age of mythology, you could take alot idea's from it.

Odin/Wotan: Old man with a spear and magic powers. King of Gods. Rides on eight legged horse.

come on guys, mythology is awesome, you guys have to keep going with this. I have many myth books, so if you need ideas for monsters and gods and stuff just ask me. I also have age of mythology which is very fun but not on the scale that this could acheive. Keep the dream alive!
