How should I start with the Mori clan ?
Should I attack first :
1- Oda (central Honshu)
or
2 - the south part of Honshu Island (Imagawa and Takeda) and then attack Shimazu ?

I have had difficulties with this clan, cause later in the game, keeping two fronts actives (East and West) is IMO very difficult.

Take out Takeda as quickly as possible. Their lands are reasonably valuable (Bitchu has a better income than most Mori provinces and Aki has silver and a port) and eliminating Takeda means that you don't need to protect nearly as many borders.

After that, take out the Shimazu in Nagato and keep a garrison there. Try to keep developing your infrastructure, particularly in Mimasaka province, which is your home province. At this point, Oda will probably be thinking of attacking you. However, Oda is weakened early in the game because of the Ronin in Yamashiro and Ise provinces. This requires him to keep garrisons in all provinces bordering these, which stretches his forces badly early on. If you see that Oda has captured Yamashiro (the Emperor will give his support when they do) then you can be sure that an Oda attack is imminent, because his forces will be freed up from guarding the border with Yamashiro.

It's also worth attacking Shikoku, in particular Sanuki, which has a good farming income. If you conquer Iyo province then be prepared to defend it against Shimazu; he will attack sooner or later.

Try to keep Oda at bay, particularly try to get an alliance with him which can buy some time for you to get good infrastructure on-line - remember, Mori has lots of armoury provinces so use them! If you can't ally with Oda then make sure you ally with everyone else. Once you are strong enough, and once you have monks, attack Oda. He will have lots of Ashiagru, so victory shouldn't be difficult if you use your monks well.

Yeah, I agree. Take out Takeda on the first turn and build a large castle (to bring your monks closer) and a mine in that province to the East that lets you. Shimazu’s little foot hold needs to be dismissed next along with the capture of Sanuki.

Another option, which I’ve not had great success with so far is going for Kawachi first thing. This is a very rich province, and with a river a nightmare to take later on. However, Oda clearly knows its value and works hard at getting it back. If you can keep it from him for the first few harvest though, not only will it give you a major boost but it will cripple him long term too. The reason I’ve not had much success with it is that this means he folds to the Purple Peril more easily…normally before I’ve sewn up Shimazu to the West which means that my subjugation very quickly follows Oda’s. It must be possible to follow up the attack on Kawachi with more assaults on Oda, though where the troops would come from I do not know as I normally have them tied up keeping Takeda peasants from revolt.

The nightmare scenario is failing to take out Takeda, deciding to leave them alone and then realising that you have Takeda Shingen in a province bordering yours http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Thank you for your answers.
Doomo arigatoo gozaimasu.

Should I win against Imagawa, Takeda and Shimazu as quick as possible (South-East)?
I mean, then it would be easier to defend my provinces only against Oda's armies, no?

The problem is : if I have to keep 2 fronts at the same time with Mori, is it possible ?
Can I win ?

Another hint which really applies to any clan, but particularily when you are pushing to clear Shimazu from his island is to leave on province alone. So you push Shimazu back until he has just one province left, hopefully a poor one with no castle, port or any infrastructure. Post an army to guard the surrounding provinces and wait. Due to the AI's ability to cheat on spending and upkeep it won't be too long before he starts building castles, dojos and ports in this isolated province. Use a watch tower or shinobi to keep track and when the province has developed to a stage where you feel it is worth while having, just move and take it.
This trick allows you to get another reasonably developed province for next to nothing.

I prefer to take out the ronin and takeda first....

Then attack the Shimazu isle from two fronts-the ronin island and nagato.

Keep Oda with a fresh alliance and then attack it...

THe first time I encountered the Hojo Horde was with Mori then in fact...
