View Full Version : A surrounded Italy, but in peace
Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. I've just started a Italian SP Campaign and managed to unify the penisula and Malta, minus the papal state. However, all other direction of expansion is covered, It seems that France had swallow the HRE and Spain had got the Muslims. It seems that the only possible target is Hungarians or Byzs. Any suggestions? ~
destroy the next bigger fleet, probably byzanz. so you gain control over the mediterrian.
if constantinople (thrace) is more vital to you in other people hands, then your own (concerning trade- results) leave it.
did you knew Genua had colonies (a little later..but) over at the crim(ean?)..black sea.
if you don`t have any idea what to do as italian...have a crusade ~
Thanks for the advice. I've managed to grab some islands with crusades from resurrected Turks.

I once unified Italy as the Venetians (Italy), except that the Byzantines controlled almost the rest of the continent...

I always go after the Sicilians next - do my bestt to unify the mediterranean islands under Italian control. Keep an eye on the Byzantine islands and watch for rebellion - have an emissary and some cash ready to buy off those islands, and troops ready to move in to guarantee they stay loyal.
If you're expanding your fleet quick enough, take a look at Ireland and Scandinavia - I've often taken or bought scandinavia, been attacked by the (one province) Danes, then stepped down into Denmark - leaving me bordering the Holy Roman Empire (or the French in your case) on both their northern and souther borders.
