View Full Version : Withdrawal Reduces My Men and Loses My General
When I withdraw a unit they do not appear back on the campaign map? BY way of example as Brunii attacking Appolnia in the second move I withdraw all my troops and watch them disappear off the map unscathed. Back on the Campaign I have lost both Generals and 1at least /2 of the Men? The game told me I was defeated but didn;t show casualties. Perhaps this is a penalty for a silly attack but more annoying is that on another occasion I withdrew my archers and went on too win the battle and afterwards the withdrawn archers were not part of my victorious group - they had disappeared also!
I'm on V1.1 - is this a known bug ~

Hello ITR_Mat and welcome to the Org ~
I haven't seen that particular situation reported yet. Perhaps combing thru the Colosseum forum would yield your answer. If not...I believe they have a "bug report" - type thread there.https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=32
Again: Welcome Aboard!
i think it is a bug,
or more accurately an undocumented feature that is not working properly.
i think the generals are commiting suicide at the shame of defeat,
also roman troops that ran away would have their ranks decimated (1 in 10 were exectuted) and there is a decimation image in one of the pak files,
so i think the game is suiciding the generals and decimating the ranks automatically. (and some men just desert too).
Only the game does not apply the procedure properly,
a tactical withdrawal is not a rout/run away and thus is not a dramatic defeat.
Please add your report to the Bug Thread.
Cheers,
B.
