Well it does'nt matter what unit you use to break up a formation. Just take a group of peasants and tell the to run through a phalanx formation, then follow up with some normal units and the phalanx will be so disrupted they are easy piecemeal. Another funny one take your general behind the enemy line and run across( best when all units are engaged). The A.I. is so agressive that that breakup there formations to chase you general only to turn there backs to your WHOLE army that they become piecemeal.

The full-gold-chevron peasants that turn up in huge rebellions, are quite impressive!

3 gold chevron peasants? I've never seen them in a large rebellion. Just several units of general bodyguards and peasant/militia combos. I wish I could get some of those peasants. They would be a great bribed civil police force.

Oh, yeah. Those super-peasants are surprisingly nasty. Kinda wonder where they come from, huh?

Now, what I really wonder is where those other troops in rebellions come from. I would kinda expect my garrison forces to stop any suspicious rebel phalanxes from forming in central plaza.

The chevrons should represent more experience, which would be true if the province has a history of constant rebellion. The morale is an effect of more experience. In any case, those are some liberated, aristocracy hating peasants! ~;)

I find the simpest way to get these guys appearing is to take a settlement and then destroy all the buildings you can so the settle can only produce peasant and then withdraw and allow it to revolt... Hey Presto, super peasants...

I think the AI gets a certain amount to spend on the troops generated in a revolt and the amount is depedant on the size of the settlement... And when you have a large city but you have destroyed the barracks and stuff the only way it can send the cash is on super peasants... What do you think???

I fully support the Peasants having more experience/moral than your average troops - but 3 GOld Chevrons is way overdoing it. A single Silver would be more than enough.
