well for the first topic... something has to be done about bribing, I shouldnt be able to stop wave after wave of men from an enemy nation, say a few thousand, and only spend 5k for it.
I mean sure its saved my butt a few times but it really kills the challenge if, when Im in the ultra-economic mode and I pull in 10k + a year and can afford anything, I can bribe any enemy besides family members that I want for basically dirt cheap. The most expensive bribe I ever paid was about 3k and this got rid of an entire full roster british army that was attacking a town with 2 units of peasants in it.

now second topic... I was playing as the Green family, name is a little hazy right now you know who I mean, and I just massacre all greeks. I take every single city that they have, Im positive about this because I traded maps with the greeks and everyone around them and the greeks are no where to be found, and I destroy their whole navy. But for some reason they werent destroyed... any ideas?

The Greeks start out with possessions in Asia Minor (Pergemum) and the island of Rhodes directly below Asia Minor. In my Brutii campaign, by the time I pushed them off the Greek mainland they still held Rhodes. Maybe they're still there?

from what I remember I took Thermon, Sparta, Athens, Pergemum, Rhodes, and... cant think of the name... it starts with a K and is an island under greece, but I got all of those.

I forgot about Syracuse. The Greeks it at the start of the game, which is on Sicily just below the Italian peninsula.

I had the same problem with the Gauls. I discovered later on that they managed to conquer a city in Britania. I just didn't bother with them as it was too far away anyway.

As for bribing, it's too cheap. Both stronger units and family members especially need to be more expensive.

IMO the base bribing value of family members should be hugely increased...

Also the base bribe value of units of a faction other than the slaves should be increased slightly..

And any units belonging to a faction other than the Slaves that are bribed and don't join the bribing faction should instead join the Slave (rebel) faction rather than simply ceasing to exist...

IMO this would encourage the use of Generals (even bad ones) to ensure the loyalty of an army and mean your troops where a little more loyal than the average group of bandits or rebel slaves... It would also mean there is a down side to just buying off every army that entered your territory even if you have the money as you could end up with more rebels than you can deal with...

If the AI was tweaked so it would make more aggresive use of bribes it would make things feel a little fairer too...

Finally (and a little off topic) the Slaves (rebels) faction should be made more agressive attacking the cities if they outnumber the garrison...

The more I think of these these things the more I want to get into modding RTW.... ~D
