Shot a 3 1/2" group at 350 yards once. Have the target and the film to prove it. Mind you, it was one hell of a rifle!

Hunting? About 30 cute cudly squirrels that were devouring my attic. A Browning BL-22 took care of them.

Mind you, I heard one squirrel smamper down the outside wall of my log cabin one day, he walked across the balcony and sat on the railing about twelve feet from the front door. I hit him with a full load of 12 gauge pellets. He vaporized off the railing into a cloud of dust. Not a nothing left.

Me and two friends tried to catch a duck.

We took a fishing pole, a hook and some weight in the end put bread on the hook, and we were catching ducks.

My only hunting adventure

Once in the blessed safety of my stand; I watched a man empty 10 rounds out of a 30-30 bolt action at a deer no more than 60 yards infront of him. Even took time to reload 5 more shots, deer never moved once, and he never hit it. He should try to lay off the beer. True story and the most incredibly stupid deer alive infront of the man. I though about taking the 150 yard shot myself and helping this poor man out.

DAMN beirut
not bad at all. What rifle?

I can do a 4-6 inch group at 100 yards with a high caliber pistol.

DemonArchangel,

A gorgeous MacMillan M86LR in .300WM shooting Federal Premium 180gr Nosler Partitions. The rifle had a Leupold 3.5x10 Tactical scope and a heavy duty Parker-Hale bipod and, obviously, I was shooting prone. I had one flyer in the group, otherwise it ould have been 2 1/2"!

Shot quite a few 1/2" groups at 100 yards as well. What a rifle!

I'll see if I can find a pic online.

Found a pic.

This rifle is a different caliber, but it's pretty much the exact same thing. Mine had a much heavier duty bipod. That springy giggly little thing is a Harris. Mine was a Parker-Hale. The same sort used on the Bren Gun. Very heavy, very solid.

Found a pic of the bipod.

Now THAT'S a bipod!

Oh, the action was a modified Remington 700. The actions are custom built by McMillan to much finer tolerances and they use more steel in the extractor, which was a (some say mythical) weakness of the R700 action. The barrel was a 24" Match Grade stainless steel barrel. The whole thing came in a Pelican case and weighed a ton. The rifle, case, and a few extras ran about $4000 US ten years ago. Had to leave a deposit and wait SIX MONTHS for the rifle. It was a veeeeeery long wait.

One of my buddies christened it "The Killer Gun From Hell". ~D

So it's basically a sniper rifle.
Remington 700 is quite common in the military too.

well i didnt get any game on this recent hunt but it was fun and iritating. i was hunting in the woods with my brand new 12 gage hinge action rossi. i saw a 50 foot water fall with cliffs about the same hight on the edges i sat there looking at it for a long time it looked great. then i got the not so bright idea to climb down and follw the river to see if this would be a good fishing spot. i unload my gun ( about the only smart thing i did the whole time) and climb down the rocks are wet and slippery. i think i can make it so i continue. i find a part that isnt a straight drop but still very steep and climb there i fall i am sliding down this thing my gun hits a rock. shortly after i grab hold of a root then climb down the rest. and continue my hunt. unfourntnatley i see my guns barrel has a nasty scratch from that rock :furious3: i would do it again though that was a great looking water fall

a pheasant with a 5 foot composite bow, it was funny because my mate had a rifle and didn't hit anything.

(my other favorite was hitting a mullet with a fish spear)

You know, that bipod of yours is not optimal...
If you want better accuracy, make it so that the bipod attaches to the gun from above the barrel, not below it, so that the gun is hanging on it. That's what I prefer when I hunt.

These guys don't need no bipods though. Dunno if you've seen it, I got this link at irc, and I know just how fast these things circulate internet.. Heck, I've often given people links and few hours later received the same link from another guy ~D

:edit:
wait, I just remembered a freak story... My dad was at the army range while he was in service, their instructor was just babbling something, with a rifle on his hand, pointing at the ground, holding it with one hand at the waist level. A bird flew just above the range some 150 yards away, he quickly pointed his rifle at it and shot- and hit! :dizzy2: with one hand from waist... talking about snapshot.
