Mike Dupuis, president of the township's Board of Education, said there were no precautions the school district could have taken to prevent such an incident.

His school budget for next year is going to look a little strange with that request for half a dozen SAMs... :laugh4:

Seriously, what good fortune for all that the school was empty at the time.

Think it was some liberal pilot looking for Cappo?

Looks like one pilots flying career is coming to a premature end.....

But seriously, why the hell is a school 3.5 miles from an AF bombing range??? 3.5 miles is literally a few seconds travelling time for a fighter jet. There is a bombing range near where I live, but its on a beach in the middle of nowhere (in British terms - its miles from the nearest village and a good 25 miles from the nearest town)

The range has been used by the military since the end of World War II, long before the once-rural area was developed.

Looks like it been someone that's been saving space (they'll never miss thier target by 3,5 miles :dizzy2: ).

LOL....

Man that is mad, but you can not tell what occured from that short article...

It is possible that the jet was a long way away at the time and if at maybe an overshoot from the actual range... The article does not mention anyone hearing the aircraft...

When I was in the army I had to do a charge sheet once for a Sergeant who fired a 30mm round inland from a coastal firing range in Wales... They were attempting to clear a jammed round while retiring from the firing line of the range with the weapon barrel at maximum elevation... ~D

(and yes they should not have left the line with the jam in place...)

Wow, that's jsut amazing. When I saw this, I thought it had to be some sort of joke.

I guess we'll see if it was negligence or not...

Also, why would people build so close to a bombing range?! :dizzy2:

I knew people had an attitude about Jersey, but this is really going too far. That pilot should show some respect to the Garden State.

Brings new meaning to Bush's "No child left behind" policy. Actually, it was just his idea of payback for NJ voting Democratic again.

That pilot's lucky school wasn't in session.........the students would have drawn their weapons and brought him down with a fussilade of small arms fire. Don't be messin' with Jersey. ~;)
