View Full Version : How Come My Epic-Stone-Wall ISNT There!
Alright, on most of my cities, Sparta (my Capital), Rome, Capua, Athens, Syracuse, and a few others, I have the Epic-Stone-Walls. However, when I go do a battle in defense, or go view them in the view city mode, there just regular small walls! Not large walls, just the smallest stone ones you can get! What is going on! WHERE IS MY EPIC-STONE-WALLS THAT I PAID FOR!

For some cultures, epic stone walls don't look than much more imposing than the other types of stone walls. I've actually stormed epic stone walls thinking they were the smaller variety, and not learning my mistake until afterwards. There have been a few threads remarking that epic stone walls are of epic price, but not much else. Just more stone to drop. Check a city with regular stone walls directly against your epics and see if they are exactly the same or not.
The walls you are seeing are merely "large walls".
It seems there is a bug when it comes to the "epic walls" for Greeks. The walls are in the game, though, as you can see if you ever play Roman. Probably a glitch in one of the *.txt files.

and I thought it was just a feature ~:)
Edit : after having a battle in a relevant city, it's not even Large Walls you are seeing if you play Greeks, it's simple Stone Walls.
Seems that the whole two last wall levels are bugged.
If you really wonder what an Epic Wall looks like, here it is :

Yes, I've sacqued many cities that had them, well more like three, but still.
So I see just a plain arse wall, what it says it is, not an Epic one, so is it just a regular stone wall with no upgrades? Or is it a Epic wall, but bugged so I can only see a regular wall, but with it firing all of the things that an Epic stone wall does?
Because I noticed mine fireing like boulders, and arrow's like maddness at the enemies, and they used the hole digging things (sap's) to take holes in the walls.

sappers are effective against all walls. which makes sense. do epic walls have extra dep foundations?

A regular : I used ladders and basic siege towers on it, and it thrown arrows at me, not ballistas. Which means that it was considered as standard stone wall for all purposes.

There's a bug with the Greek walls that anything higher up than "Stone Walls" does not appear on the campaign map.
I assaulted a Couple of Greek/Macedonian cities in my campaign that supposedly had "large" walls, in reality they were just your basic stone walls that you could use a ladder on.
Don't build anything higher, its not worth it.

Is it bugged for Seleucids too? I mean as for MAcedon and the Greek cities.

it might well be as they are also "Greek" Culture in the game... So I guess that every factions that shares the same culture is effected.

Hmm.... I'm not sure if Selucids can build epic walls. I know I had some in battles as the selucids but that may have been the roman cities I took. I only built a few, and those cities werent attacked.
Note that the seige engines change when attacking epic walls.
