Help with a war.

Right now (as the Armenians) I wage war with Brutii in Asia Minor and cant get the dam Selucids and Egyptians to leave my back door alone. I feel quight constricted. Luckly the Brutii are too stuck up to ally with the Selucids and Egyptians. Dose any one have a way to help with this most desperate delema?

Defend your front cities sufficiently. Then, march any other amries you have around the east and north of the black sea to get some of those Scythian cities. After that, you will be face with Dacia and Thrace. These are never that strong, so use them as a buffer against the Brutii or possible wondering Julii forces in Illyria. These northern provinces should get you the income to assault the Selucids and Egyptians in the south.

ha ha ha funny. Now my only problem with the takeing some sythiean citys thing is that the Brutii own that are of land and the black sea. But perhaps I could Pursuade the remaining Pontian armies to help with the war...

Play on the defence, build an econemy and lots of military units. Let them attack. Kill them. Then capture the surrounding territories. Don't captrue Brutiis greek or Italian territories though, that would be bad. Really Bad.

Yea, just keep where your at. You being the human player should out do the AI in the long run. Just defend your cities efficiently, while building massive armies.

Once you've got an over-produced military of tens of thousands, gather your full strengh, and burst, spread in each direction, and capture two or three cities in every direction, hold, re-build, defend, make new army, and do the same. :bow:

What I've had to do vs. Bruti. I just defended, built strength, and then burst suddenly, and wipped Bruti out! It works bro, just takes an hour or two of building, mabye less.

well I can't really defend because my only armies good enuf to defend a city are off in Greec atempting to cut the Brutii line of retreet. As of now (thank God) the Selucids have backed away thanks to the remaining parthiean troops takeing there capitol. Egypt still has a pike shuved up my ass though so heres what I've got. 2 generals, 10 Katofract archers, 25 Heavy spearmen, 40 hillmen (fresh troops like hot cakes out of the oven) 19 archers, 15 Katofracts, and finaly 3 gropes of merceneray Elephants (gifts from the Numidians).

Dose that look good for a defence?

Yea, just hold where your at, building defense militaries. You'd be suprised what a few men can do when the call comes for defense, or, what they cant do if they get scared.

I defended Syracuse, my once largest city, with 6 battered to about 50% each units of Milita Hoplites, vs. 2,000+ Scippi romans, fully armoured, seige weapons, and skills when defending, loseing 3/4 my army, but killing over 1,800 of theirs!

Another good thing for me in my game. The Brutii just caved econamy wise. The Pontieans just retook Nicomedia and the Brutii armies in Turkey are out of re-enfoursments.

Cool. I'm Italian/German/Redneck(used to be English irish but have lived down in west Virginia for 2 long) and the USSR was cool. but our enemy. but our best enemy and my favorite enemy. And they ahd really cool flags and symbols and stuff

Also I am thinking of makeing a mod for RTW about a world were the major nations of the acient times colide. Russia and a "middle ages America" would be there as well. Then you can kill all the Russkis you wish. ~:)

When I played as the Armenians I used nothing but horse armies. Mostly horse archers with a few melee cav to run down enemy generals. I eliminated the Pontics, the Selucids, the Parthians and kicked the Greeks out of my part of the world by 252BC. After that I went to work on the Egyptians. So if are still pretty small I would suggest you start expanding like crazy. Otherwise the Eggys will run right over you. And try cav armies!

I have plenty of cav and infantry, I simply don't have enuff good generals to fight a 2 fronted war. I'm plenty big (encompising all of the Parthian territory and most of what WAS Pontus) It's just I can't fight a 2 fronted war comrade.
