View Full Version : Language, voices, time...
It would be far more better (and realistic) if romans were speaking LATIN, not english.
And some voices sucks (...the day is ouuuurs)!
Someone was on drugs when said YES, ITS OK!!!
One more thing, this is "strategy game" but when assaulting the walls of the towns time is so limited that player is forced to rush like mad to beat the time....SUCKS!!!!
for the time thing before you start a campain go to historical battle then leave and then start your campain the timmer on battls aint there no more so you can

I personally liked the latin language in MTW. Some of those files found their way into my windows sound library, so I get yelled at in latin when I have a critical error.

The voices are a reason to sit and cry, or to get hilarious. Whatever comes first. ~D
The limited battle time issue; I hated it when I heard of it for the first time, but until now I must have fought over thousand battles and time never ran out on me. Hence I saw no reason to actually deactivate it. :duel:
In case the timer annoys you download this program:

As for the voices, they are indeed horrific. But I don't think it would be better if they screamed "the day is oooowWWURSSSS" in latin. Get new voices, I say.
~
I can't believe everyone's giving the voices such a hard time. Yeah, they're a bit ott, but it is a game, after all... And I challenge CA to come up with any voices that you could hear saying the same thing over and over and over and become annoying.
But let's face it, the voices are just going to be personal taste, aren't they?

Well, yes and no - if the orders are in their proper language, then you can't understand the words anyway, so you don't get so wound up - also, none of the languages are still alive, so accents wouldn't be annoying, as you wouldn't recognise them.
Only prob' is - who knows what 'loose formation!' is in ancient Numidian?
I'm off to practise my latin version of 'the day is ourrrrs...hey scoob?' in my best shaggy accent.

Check out the voice mod (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=14199) - not ready yet, but will be cool when it is done.
