What happened with my leader, from 8stars to 5!? [Archive]

My Julii leader is "Marco the Killer", he was an eight star general when i attacked the Thracian capital.
I attacked with 700men against 800Thracians, and managed to take the city with 2min left. I exterminated the populace and Marco yelled "Victory" and stepped into the city.
Next thing i see is on the army screen, Marco is now a five star general???
I got no messages about anything after the fight (aside from the standard one when you exterminate the population).

I will redo the fight, i saved the game just one turn before the fight, but i'm just wondering if anyone else has had such an experience. If so, is there a reason for it, or is it a bug?

Some times you get extra stars when attacking or besieging or defending or look at your traits you might of picked up a bad trait or 2 that take command stars away. :charge:

It's probably the Superior Attacker trait. Like the man (or woman) said check your character details. ~;)

I shall look at the traits and such, but this guy has LOTS of traits! I must load an old save and write them all down and then load the latest save and compare.

The odd thing is that, as far i know, every time you get a new trait you are told about it in the end year reports. There was no such thing this time.
But you're probably correct, must've been something like that.

But i think it's a bit much really!
I capture a huge city against the odds and the commander looses three stars? Ah well, i'll build himm up again i guess...

You don't get notified every time you get a new trait, it's usually the nasty one that it *forgets* to tell you about. :no:

Yes just recently noticed this if it's a trait gained during battle you get a message. Any other trait seems to get dismissed as I could see the report for this as too annoying. As far as I know you always get a notice for retinues.
