Regarding editing posts. Do I need to be a moderator to edit my own posts? If not how to I go about doing it?

Thx in advance

These forums use membership levels (junior member, member, senior member, assistant moderator, moderator) with fewer restrictions as you progress. Editing posts comes with advancement to 'member'. Moderators track the quality and content of your posts and manually upgrade your membership level over time (post count is not a factor in those decisions).

MidnitePiper: Thanks for the reply. So I do get the edit function after I've become a member. BTW how do I obtain 'member' status? :embarassed:

BTW how do I obtain 'member' status?Promotion to Member is based on participation, conduct and contributions in your posts. Quantity of posts doesn't matter a whit - you could be promoted on the basis of one amazing post, although just showing the ability to interact with the membership in a helpful and polite manner is easily sufficient. In other words, you don't need to do something special, just enjoy yourself whilst following the Forum Rules (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/Rules.shtml).

Promotion will come in due course - I wouldn't worry about it. Promotions are generally done en masse, but if there is a pressing need for you to be granted Member status, then your best bet is to PM KukriKhan (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/private.php?do=newpm&u=4149) and explain your situation. The staff will always try to help you if they can.

Oh, and introducing yourself in the HAIL New Members! (Introductions) (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=39010) thread doesn't hurt either! ~D

I think it's a bit stupid you can't edit your posts untill your a member. If you spell something wrong or something like that, you can't edit it! :furious3:

Mod Note: Sometimes the edit button isn't much help with spelling OR grammar, huh WannabeGosu? I draw everyone's attention to the "preview post" button, just right of the "submit" button for all posts. - Kukri
