Total war Rome black screens and freezes everytime!

When I open my "Total war Rome" it black screens. Sometimes it gets to the opening picture but then freezes. I even tryed downloading the demo to see if that would work but it does the same thing!! Does anyone know how to fix this problem! is really making me mad because I can't play this game I got. :furious3:

Without more information than you've provided, it's going to be difficult for anyone to help you. Try the tech support forums here or at the .com forums as your problem - and a solution - may well be described there. Those should be your first ports of call for help.

The most likely explanation is that you need to update device drivers, DirectX or WMP, but I must add that I'm not a technical support bod merely making an educated guess.
