Hi everyone ~

In my games I like to monitor not only my generals but also my individual units. The game at present makes it very difficult to do this. It would be nice if each unit when trained was given a unique number so that you could follow and comment on their exploits. This mostly affects me when I have 10 units of infantry as the romans. In the battle screen they are given roman numeral reference numbers but these appear purely random just for that battle and do not carry forward into future battles. I believe this would make PBEM games as well as the SP game more rewarding.

What are your thoughts?

It would have been a nice gimmick, but I have had bad experiences with wargames that try to do this. Uncommon Valour for example individually named every single pilot (several hundred of them) and kept careful count of how many missions they flew, how many kills they have made and how tired they were. But it appears the developers were so anally retentive on this detail that they forgot to let the player control his combat missions properly.

Personally, I'd rather have a game that does the important bit properly than gives me nice gimmicks.
