I've delayed long enough. Finally made Scythia playable yesterday and started playing with them.
First thing i noticed was that the Scythian horse archers are trained from muster field which was very weird considering. The first couple turns were hard due to insufficient money and vast travelling distances.
But oh boy aren't the Scythians awesome!! They have one of the best horse archer in the game, prolly even the best cavalry also. I used to think Parthians are the best, boy was I wrong.
The best thing for Scythians is that theyre of barbarian races, so their building requirements are low even for their best units. U only need lvl 2 Stables to get the Noble HA and Noble Cav. Combined with their +3 exp temple and Armourer, the Hordes are unstoppable. This low requirement also meant that you would always be able to retrain ur veterans after every sieges. They also have a decent infantry (axement +1). But you should just be using them sparingly if not for sieges. I've gotten a couple Heroic victories against huge armies with like 10-20 losses most from friendly fire.
The only thing that sux bout them are their boats, which doesnt stand a chance against the romans. Be prepare for plagues though since they have no way of controlling squalors :(
