If anybody in the ORG community wants to join an RPG based on the Colonial era and starting in 1600 check us out here: Colonial/17th Century Warfare (http://s7.invisionfree.com/The_17th_Century_RPG/index.php?act=idx)

We still need all nations except England and France and everyone will be welcome. You can create colonies, fight colonial wars, fight normal wars, negotiate trade and military deals, even trade land for peace etc....anything you can think of, will go.

So if the idea of creating a colonial or land based empire or just fighting in the 17th century appeals to you, then check us out ~:)

Londinium, I'll leave this post here since there are some history buffs who might not see it elsewhere, but you should also post this in the Arena if you haven't already.

Hi !

I have visited the forum and spotted several ideas which aren't very accurate.

I assume that it starts in 1600. Here are my notes.

1.Confederation Of Lithuania and Poland

Rather Federation it was much closer than just a personal union it was earlier. From 1569 ( Lublin union) it certainly was a federation.
Both parts were rather equal, although Poland was much stronger when it comes to economy, manpower and culture - still it is hard to say that it was only autonomous.

Exported trade goods: wheat, cattle ( from Ukraine), wood.
Import - 'luxuries', wine ( from Hungary mostly), exotic goods
( Turkey) and others. Manufacturied goods were not exported - whole production was used in other parts of the country.
Steeds WERE NOT exported - it was prohibited till around 1764, were much too valuable and too good to be sold abroad.

Vassal states in 1600 - Prussia, Moldavia and Wallachia ( the second and the third together with the Ottomans).

Prussia was still possible to include peacefully till 1618, and in great danger till 1672 ( Ottoman wars started).

In war with Sweden ( for Estonia and Livonia) and Russia ( cease-fire).

2.Sweden

Its army was weak at that time, at least untill G.Adolph reformed the army.

3.Prussia

Still vassal of Poland and should remember it.

QUESTION

Is the Crimean Khanate possible to choose ?
Maybe I would be interested.

Since Londinium is obsessed with the forum, I'll try and answer your questions.

Yes Crimea is available, you can ask for it in the Claim Nations thread, however if you wish to play a European superpower, Austria has just opened up.

Forewarning: Many of the people on this forum are not history buffs, the army sizes of many nations (including my own to an extent) are off the map. It has even gone as far as some people trying to introduce bayonets into their armies. If you can't live without historical accuracy, this might not be the best forum for you.

I have read some threads ( east europe mostly) in the game and yes some players have little idea how wars were fought at that time and how much it was expensive ( e.g. 100 cannons in army of poor - and how arrogant ! - Prussia).

Anyway I have no time for this game unfortunatelly - preparing P&M TW takes some time, quite much, honestly.

But maybe are you interested in this - I can post some really good info about eastern european states (military mostly), even very basic, but extremely useful.
I have learnt much preparing info for the mod.

I am registered in your forum, just send me a PM there what do you need
( about Prussia, Russia, Poland, Sweden, Moldavia, Wallachia, the Ottomans, Georgia, Cossacks, Tatars, Hungary + maybe something else) maybe I can give some really interesting answers.

Regards Cegorach/Hetman ~;)

What about right here, cannon to infantry ratios in German states during the Thirty Years' War? Heck even Prussia would do.
