I know this question has been asked before, but I have long since lost the links.

But does anyone know if there is a site that will have a good representation of Hiragana/Kanji for certain words? For instance I would like to convert Kendo into Kanji/Hiragana (both pls) and otherones such as Shogun and others

Your reply in advance is most appreciated.

Hi !

Go to : http://www.njstar.com/
there, download the NJStar Japanese Word Processor Demo (free)
Launch the software.
In the editor type : k e n d o
you will see kendo in hiragana.
In the editor press shift and k, then without shift key, continue e n d o,
you will see Kendo in Kanji ...

Learn to use NJstar for writing in japanese.

Also, if you use Outlook Express and Internet Explorer, you can download Japanese language capability. You select the language and type the romaji with your keyboard. A list will appear that will give you choices of kana and kanji. Sometimes you will not know which kanji has the meaning you want. However, with specific words with few homophones, like "kendo", that's not usually a problem.

Allen: They called Einstein crazy . . .

Lavi: Nobody called Einstein crazy.

Allen: Well, they would have if he carried on like this.
