It's only a matter of time before Shogun: Mystic Warriors or some such item comes out and we're all fighting Chinese dragons and drunken masters ("able to hold off entire armies of troops") and "history" - for whatever it's worth anyway in gamedom - goes out the window on little bat wings.

I don't think the Kensai have bat wings, the ninja might though, like the Lego ones on hangliders!

Anyone want to take a guess as to which event (that or Soly's scenario) is likely to happen first?

Actually,

the masterswordsman could be a good unit (gamewise)... There are several examples historically of a single man doing such a thing....

one such is at Anegawa... An Asakura samurai covered the retreat of the Asakura force all by himself and his son.

Hopefully, they remember to give this unit a lot of morale.

Hmmm..maybe Sid Meier has something coming out soon. Like everyone else on here, I'm perfectly happy to criticize what seems to be an absurd item/unit/feature to the game, but I will admit I'll have just as much fun as any of the supporters playing with these very same items/units/features in seeing what they can do.

Do we know that they actually estroy the enemy units, or do they just have some masisive 'I'm not bloody well going anywhere near him!' effect on the morale of the enemy units. with a bit of luck he's only going to be really useful somewhere where he can't easily be out flanked, though it's generally easy to hold that sort of position anyway, it'sd free up some troops, or as per Zen_Blades example let you retreat your troops.

masisive? I must still be drunk
