Has anyone so far actually tried messing with the marian reforms? Ie. tried giving it to non-roman factions, or see if non-roman factions are affected by it? I'm having some troubles with it, and testing it is a pain, so maybe somebody has experienced this already?

The occurrence of the reforms is hard-coded to when a non-Senate Roman faction builds an Imperial Palace. You should be able to prevent legionary copycat units from being built until the reforms, but that's about it.

So the reforms only work for Romans?

Only romans can trigger the reforms, but you might be able to make barb units rely on it, I don't know.

I don't see why there wouldn't be units of other cultures with reformed units. I'm pretty sure that, considering the way RTW units work, it is possible to implement the change to other factions.

Well that's what I thought too... but it does't work for me. The units appear as they did before when their time comes in the queue, regardless of 'and marian reforms' or 'and not marian reforms' triggers I give them..
