I've just had a level 5 General bumped off by a Ninja, apart from retiring a general to Stud, how can I protect them from the pesky assasins.

I've just started building my Own Ninja, and don't yet have any Geisha.

Shinobi, border forts, and ninja.

Shinobi, border forts, and ninja.

Garrison size seems to have an effect on capturing them as well.

Wow, that must have been a high-honor ninja--generals of Rank 4 and above rarely get killed by ninja.

Keeping defensive shinobi and ninja units in the province where your generals are will significantly increase the chance of capturing/killing attacking ninja. A Border Fort (not a watchtower ...) works well at this too. None of these have any effect on geisha. They must be killed by ninja or another geisha.

I haven't heard about garrision size affecting ninja at all. I'm doubtful, but can't say for sure.

Mus, I think you're right in that, i've had my Uesugi Kenshin killed during my first campaign!

ninja's really suck i they are not yours!

I now am shimazu, i'm quite protected by my position in Japan, so have money to make one area for only ninja's shinobi's and more!

I mostly use ninja's for defending my own lands, i they kill enemy spies, they get better and i use them to kill enemy generals or infiltrating castle's ~

i usually find border forts in all regions stops every single assassin, only my poor emmisarys who visit foriegn lands die by them.

always good to keep a giesha handy just incase the enemy builds one or you'll be moving units all over the place whilst building it/up to it.

I use Ninjas to take out high-brass generals once one clan has been confined to 1-2 last provinces and weak. I won't commit any more armies to get a bloody fight to the end, especially if their last general is more than 3-star and has a 500+ men army.

I'll systematically attack that general (or Daimyo or heir) until I kill him eventually making bribing or conquering an easier job.

Another good [backstabbing] strategy is to ally with a clan and then exterminate its head. Perhaps some of their provinces will become yours after they're dead.

Geisha's ....

During my shimazu-campaign hojo made several geisha's :help: :help:

against them:

i especially used ninja's against them, cause they are cheaper faster trained!

if you train a geisha (4 seasons!!!!) it will die killing the enemy , i hate that and don't use them :furious3: !

bye!

Your Geisha takes 4 seasons to train? You're lucky...
Mine takes 16! Seriously!

i seem to remember a giesha taking 8 season to be trained, could be wrong on that.
