what do you guys think of time commanders?(uk history,8pm every night this week) if you havent seen it basically its a team of people who have to command a historical battle using rtw battle maps. tonight it was hannabal v some roman dude & he or they i should say got their arses well & truelly kicked!!! the team commited there spearmen straight up & wasted them hehehe IDIOTS. theres also two history boffins who go over what they should have done & i find there advise quite helpfull for my own games. anyway thought id just let yous know, thats uk history 8pm every night.

I watched it religiously every week when it was on the first time. The series on the history channel are repeats.
My favourite was the ladies netball team who really got it together and kicked butt. The most hilarious was probably last weeks episode with Gary who didn't stop talking long enough to let his brain work and the guy who got his tactical tips from Ben Hur.
Most worrying was the team of politicians who couldn't make a decision.
My son tried to get me to organise a team but they had pretty strict rules that nobody with wargaming or historical knowledge was allowed on the show.
Personally, I think the hardest part is that you don't get hands on control of the troops. You have to pass orders through the guys in the black baseball caps and it must be hard to explain exactly what you want. Problems of right and left seem to occur in almost every game.
