All right, I know that the your popularity with the people depends on your conquests, but I can't understand why I still only have six approval icons for the people.

I am playing as the Scipii and I have control of most of northern Africa (all except Egypt), Sicily, Spain, France and most of Germany. I have destroyed the Carthaginians, Numidians and Gauls personally. I tested out having Daily Arena and Coloseum games in almost all my cities to see if it would have any affect and it didn't. My Faction leader is kind of a jackass because I wasn't paying attention to who was made heir, but other than that I can't find any way of increasing my popularity.

As a note, I know about the other ways of starting the civil war, but I want to try this route. I have a great senate standing (eight icons) and I could send a diplomat to cancel my senate alliance, but I really am interesting in how to get my popularity up.

let a couple rebel and recapture them. Poof instant senate negatives and peoples positive.

Popularity with the people seems to depend largely on your faction leader and amenities...

That seems to make sense. My faction leader is a dolt at the moment. Soon to be dead dolt with any luck.

lol, I had my second Scipii leader live to like 67 and my third is like 38 and both had great popularity with the senate and the plebs so my faction has high senate popularity and is slowly gaining pleb popularity. But since I have exterminated 3-5 cities in the first 50 years they may be a little pissed about that. One thing I love about TW is that your king can still ride into combat when he is 65, my old and now dead faction leader was making suicide cavalry charges three years before his death and was about to siege Dimmidi! :charge:
