Thought you meant any movie (but then you would have posted in the Off-Topic (dumb me). I've written this because there's a crew at "my hotel" for this film and I saw photographs of some people organized "à la shogun" (formation of men on hills and near forest).

Though you can find movies about individual ronin-samurai in abundance (mostly quite old), true samurai war type movies have been rare overall, and don't seem to come out more than once or twice per decade, unfortunately. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

I am sure though that l ahev heard that there are 2 movies in the makign that will feature full scale battles set in the Japanese era!
Also not Japanese but there is also a Alexander the Great movie in the making.
Hope those movies come soon!

A good japanese samurai type movie is Ran i rented it from blockbuster a while back og and the STW:WE opening cinema is a clip from Ran.

kagemusha is also a movie that has war on an epic span kurasowa is the director and he has directed many many great movies... he is probably japn's greatest director
