So I was about to claim the plaza of the Carthagian capitol after a long battle, loosing a whole unit of Hastati on the wall cause my ballista threw a rock at the wall and the whole thing came down crashing, helmets and shields everywhere! Then half of my troops get showered with hot oil, so finally I'm mopping up and sent in my 6 stars general to claim the plaza and right before he gets in the middle I get a Loose battle screen. ~

:furious3: :furious3: :furious3: Stupid timer @#$@!!! totally ruined my day!!

Anyways, the ai doesn't seem to intellingent on the battle field, however, not sure if by luck, it has done fair against my plan of world domination. The AI actually reinforced its troop of the Carthagian capital as I was ammassing an assault force on the door steps.

btw
This game has taken over my life. :help:

To further humiliate newcomers, they are banned from using the edit button. ~D Don't worry, once you're promoted you'll get it.

As for your timer woes: Many people have suffered at its hands. There are workarounds-have a look around this forum and you should find them. Also, your incident with the rock and the crushed Hastati sounds very amusing-although I imagine it was annoying at the time. ~;)

i've read somewhere, that it is possible to disable the timer by simply visiting the historical battles menu (or custom battle, can't remember) before starting a new campain and it worked at my julii campain. however this is not always a good thing, as sometimes the enemy waits outside your walls and does nothing while you are prepared to defend so you have to went out and fight them there if you want the battle to end.

If you want to turn off the timer, just use the trick mentioned in frog's guide.
Go to the historical battles menu then exit and start your campaign. It only works for a new campaign of course ~;)

Here's a thread. If you haven't read it already, follow the link to Frogbeastegg's guide, good reading.

Wall collapse with troops on it, got a screenshot? I wonder if you can collapse your own walls (as a defender). Damage it some, wait for the enemy to take the wall, then bring it down. Got to try that in a custom battle...

No screen shot, didn't know it could happen. I had my Astratis fighting this Carthagian troop on the wall :duel: , so genious me decided to have my catapult aim at the Carthagians. Of course with my luck a stray rock hit the wall where my troops were, the rock broke the wall and they all fell to their doom. I was like holy sh*t! ~
This game doesn't stop amazing me!

You can use TiLiN (http://www.twcenter.net/downloads/db/?mod=42) (Time Limit Negator). Works great

Rome's omission of the time limit toggle is beyond puzzling. It's beyond baffling. It's downright stupefying.

I'm glad there's a timer. I just wish the timer made more sense. Sometimes you get over 30 minutes for a trivial open battle. And once I was given about 18 minutes... to take Rome?!!? No sense whatsoever. A large siege should have a time limit more around 60 minutes. I'd imagine that's enough time for any general to take a city.
